Slow Download Speed Fast Upload Fiber Sonic
Slow upload Sonicwall TZ200
Hi all
We have a 100/100 fiber connected to a Sonicwall TZ200, Simply nosotros have a problem with our upload speed, our upload speed is only 20mbit, and that is non satisfied.
I accept tried another firewall without any problems, the thing is nosotros take just bought the Sonicwall and all our license, Then I have to do what I can to get this up and running, If I go and set up network on the Sonicwall from Car to 100mbit FULL DUPLEX both download and upload drops to 2mbit.
I really need some help with this one, so if whatsoever of you have an idea what to practice, please allow me know

How about changing the other cease to 100 full, non the Sonic Wall, but the device information technology is connected to.

What licenses do you have installed. For instance, I see that when you use UTM, max speed is 35MB

I can't change anything on the other end, it's a fiberbox our Isp has setup, and our Sonicwall is connected to that.
Nosotros don't employ UTM, and I have also tried disable other scaning things, Content filer, antivirus, antispyware and then on and it dosen't change whatsoever matter

Disable the various UTM features and test again - I've seem similar issues due west/ Fortinet products that were resolved by tweaking UTM settings (I don't recall specifics, tho.)
Non suggesting you should get out UTM disabled, but that might help narrow the focus.
Edit: sorry - nosotros posted at the same time.

What are you using to measure the upload speed? Is the result the aforementioned across multiple devices?

what firmware version and Bone you accept on the apparatus ? Did you try to play with Bandwidth management ? You tin can setup the speed there manually

The TZ200 might be a niggling underpowered for a 100/100 link. You certainly won't be able to go full 100 Mbit with any firewall fewatures turned on.

Hi
I recollect you are correct, The TZ200 is to minor for a 100/100 connection, I also take an 3060 pro do you recollect that is better for the task?

Looking at the specs for the 3060, it seems similar it could handle faster speeds. I don't call back the 3060 will run the latest versions of SonicOS though.
Is there anyway to render the TZ200 and become a TZ215? For the feed y'all have, your All-time pick is something in the NSA series, they are rated to handle 100Mbit+ feeds and still handle all UTM functions.

Information technology might assist if, equally a rule of thumb y'all one-half the published throughput figures for the device.
We've been looking at throughputs on SonicWall and other vendors out there. Nigh will state the throughput as tested nether optimal conditions. Nigh of us cease reading and presume this can't be far from what we could expect but be aware of this 'Under Optimal atmospheric condition'. In majority of cases we found this means the largest packet size has been used to test the throughput of the device.
If y'all're request yourself why this matters, it's all down to the number of packets which have to traverse the unit in gild to make upwardly the publish throughput. 1 package is non going to contain all the information and so information technology is broken downwards into a number of transmissions. Each fourth dimension the unit of measurement processes a packet, information technology adds a filibuster and as more than processing (UTM Inspection) is added the delay is increased, thus reducing throughput. If the payload (packet size) of each packet is high, the unit processes fewer packets to make up the published figure and therefore seems quicker.
The reality is everyone's average measured packet size is unlike and then nosotros researched and found our average packet size using our existing firewall, compared our package size to the packet size used to get the published figures which meant we had to one-half any published figures for the unit.

In terms of configuration, I recall the proposition from CloudMan is probably the start place I'd start. Brand sure whatsoever avant-garde BWM is cleaned out and then you tin see the raw throughput. The beneath link may also help.

Send the thing back. Distressing, simply I'm not joking. I accept 100 TZ100s. Granted, this is a lower end model, but I expect my experiences will apply here. I was having a huge variety of bug with these firewalls, and Sonicwall actually weren't being very helpful. One of their senior tech's responses to one problem was upgrade the firmware to the latest release, which is fair enough, but I asked if there was a known issue with the firmware we were using and he didn't know but said we had to upgrade anyway. Given all these bug, I set up a TZ100 on my home DSL. None of the security services were activated, in fact the simply things that were configured were what was required for it to give out an IP, WiFi, and VPN back into my role. It was so horrendously slow that I could not even stream Youtube! I removed the thing later a month and everything went back to normal. I would seriously wait at returning this and going with another vendor. I've switched to Watchguard for my adjacent circular of deployments and haven't run into whatsoever issues so far that weren't as a result of me locking down too much.

I had a similar issue. Nosotros take Cablevision Ultimate. When connecting directly to the modem speedtest.net reported download speeds < 80mbps. When connected to the Tz200, > xx mbps. I went to the Security Summary and modify the setting from Maximum Security to Functioning Optimized and the departure was significant.
Nosotros are non reaching speeds close to what we were getting with the directly connection.
